ValjevoBusiness School of Applied Studies - VIPOS

 ValjevoBusiness School of Applied Studies was established in 1979 as the  Collegeof

Economicsand Law located at 3a, Vuka Karadzica Street in Valjevo. It is one of the six

statebusiness schools in the Republic of Serbia and the only school of this type inthe west of Serbia.

 The Schoolwas transformed into the College of Economics “Prota Mateja Nenadović” in1984, and

by thedecision of the Government of the Republic of Serbia it became a state schoolin1993. Incompliance with the new Serbian Law on Higher Education, the School receivedthe nationalaccreditation in 2007, whereby it was transformed into a business schoolof appliedstudies, awarding Bachelor degrees.

The missionof the School is to educate and trainitsstudents of Bachelor, specialist professionaland masters professional programmes through innovative and up-to-date curricula,thus providing them with superior

professionalcompetencies and ensuring their enhancedemployability. In order to fulfillits mission, VIPOS focuses on high quality teaching, continuous internationalcooperation and  active approach toscientific research.

 The visionof VIPOS is to become one of the leading higher education institutions in

the Republicof Serbia in the fields of Bachelor, specialist professional and  masters professionalprogrammes.

Since 2001,the School has been intensively cooperating with a number of similar higher

educationinstitutions abroad, with Duale Hochschule Baden-Württemberg Stuttgart being

the mostimportant one. The aim of this cooperation is to exchange ideas on the

contents ofthe study programmes and their implementation, as well as to apply some of theelements of  the German modelof education to enhance the quality of the study programmes and teaching proceduresat VIPOS.

   Apartfrom its educational activities, the School boasts the  Research and Development Centre

establishedin 1994 which provides project development services and professional

developmenttrainings and courses in the various fields such as accounting, bookkeeping,finance,etc. to companies and employed individuals. At  the only state business school of appliedstudies in the region, there are currently  more than 1000students of Business Economics and Business Informatics (Bachelor -first degreestudies), as well as Financial Management, Business Informatics, Taxationand Customsand Marketing and Public Relations (specialist professional-second degree studies).

 Inaccordance with the amendments to the Law on Higher Education, VIPOS ispreparing tointroduceprofessional masters degree programmes that have already been recognised as goodpractice in higher education institutions of applied sciences in the EuropeanUnion.In this way,beginning from October 2015 (school year 2015|16), students will have theopportunityof obtaining a  master`s degree uponcompleting a five-year course of studiesat VIPOS.
